Racing Towards Summer.

and against impotence.

Its that time of year finally,  where our very short spring season begins turning into summer and our city streets are taken over by tourists, festivals, and too many authoritative figures to feel completely at home. Now i usually know better than to attempt going to the Grand Prix on crescent as I am not a racing fan except when it comes to James Dean, nor am I interested having soda, energy drinks, and bailey’s(not vegan) shoved down my throat like a marketing nightmare of idiocracy. That and i find the whole event incredibly sexist as every booth has their own set of scantily clad girls representing their brand at a disservice to themselves which would never be a problem if maybe there were at least a few men in short shorts branded by Dr. Pepper and Hype. Maybe I am not their target market as I believe everyone should have a bike but i enjoy an outdoor beer, music, and people watching as much as the next Montrealer.

But this post isnt about that, Peta always knows how to take sexuality and bring it for the name of animal justice.  I spent my time at festival Grand Prix demonstrating in the name of animals, and veganism. We wanted to make sure in the spirit of Formula 1 that people know if you want you engines  heated up in the bedroom than you should Go Veg, because:
“the cholesterol and animal fat in meat, eggs, and dairy products slow the flow of blood to all the body’s organs—not just the heart—and can increase the risk of impotenceBesides leading to animal suffering and environmental degradation on a massive scale, eating meat in the kitchen has a lot to do with what goes on—or doesn’t go on—in the bedroom. And it isn’t just men who should fuel up on veggies. The landmark Nurses’ Health Study of 18,000 women found that women who replaced animal protein with vegetarian protein sources lowered their risk of ovulatory infertility by more than 50 percent!”

                                                                        Dots & Studs.

*notice bag and boy in back

Despite a stirred collection of organizers attempting to have us barred, inconvenienced, and annoyed I managed to get all these lovely festival styles whilst volunteering or a cause I believe in.

  1. Well said! Kudos to you, Danik!I love this post. I commend you for raising awareness about animal cruelty and the benefits of going vegan. This event was the perfect place to do it. Keep up the good work.
